The Birth of Liam Charles Bush and Now Already Four Weeks Old!

Liam Charles Bush has finally arrived!!!  He was born on July, 28 2014 at 7:56 a.m. weighing 8 lb 10 oz and 20.5 in long.  I knew I would have a large baby, larger than Miss O, who weighed 6 lb. 5 oz at birth, but I wasn't expecting an eight pounder.  All of the nurses throughout my stay at the hospital would say that I definitely ate my Wheaties this pregnancy, ha!
4 am on July 28th Charlie and I woke up semi bright eyed and bushy tailed to make a scheduled arrival for a 7 am c-section at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees, NJ.  As most of you might know I had been going back and forth this pregnancy on whether to have a v-back or a c-section.  The only reason I was contemplating a v-back was because he was head down the entire pregnancy, the 32 week ultrasound even confirmed this.  However, when the doctor's first words were "Hi Butt" upon brining him out, I was like WHAT!  He must have flipped the last few weeks of pregnancy, although I have no idea how he did since there was no room left in there.  I felt so relieved that I made the right choice to have another c-section and then when they told me how much he weighed, I felt down right grateful.  I am glad I listened to every ones advice.

As you can see he is a very content little man.  He is a great sleeper, eater, and especially good at going the bathroom.  So good in fact that he pooped all over the OB, nurse, and myself as they tried to pull him out.  In the past four weeks since his birth I have had similar miss fortunate accidents.

Liam and I spent three nights and four days at Virtua Hospital.  Charlie, Olivia, and my parents whom were visiting for over two weeks came to visit us every day.  Liam and I spent a lot of quality time together when we didn't have visitors.  Over that time we took many pictures to commiserate this special time of our first born son.  There is so many pics that I love that I had a hard time deciding which ones to show, so bare with me with the following barrage of pics.
These pics were taken right after surgery

Pop Pop holding his Grandson for the first time
Love that Pop is holding O's stuffed dog, as well as Liam

As you can see O is over the moon excited and in love with her baby brother.  She wants to hold, kiss, and hug him all the time.  In the last pic she was giving him his binky, while singing twinkle twinkle little star.  Every time a nurse would come in she would show them her big sister shirts, so proud to be a big sis.  Since we have been home she has been a great help, retrieving more diapers or a clean outfit, as well as trying to calm him down when he cries.
Nothing sweeter than a Father with his Son,
melts my heart

been home I have many more pics like these.
He is so alert for his age, even the nurses
and docs would comment on his alertness.

Mamma is doing good too!  There was no complications with my surgery and my recovery time has been extremely fast, faster than my first c-section.  Everyday in the hospital I would get up and walk up and down the halls pushing Liam in his nursery bed.  The nurses looked at me like I was crazy, I don't think going on walks is a normal thing for a woman that just had a c-section to do.  I don't think it is normal for most women that just gave birth since I never saw other mothers walking around during my stay.  I think keeping active after surgery and throughout my pregnancy has allowed me to have such a fast recovery, as well as losing 20 lbs in two weeks post surgery.  Only 15 lbs to go and I will be back to pre-pregnancy weight!  I even started to run again at around 3 weeks.  I wish I followed the same regiment when I had O.  All I knew is that I didn't want it to take months to get my body back and be in my normal clothes.
I cannot believe it has been 4 weeks already since he was born, three days ago was his 1 month B-Day!  Liam continues to sleep, eat, and poop like a champ.  He eats about 4 oz, six times a day and we are starting to increase three bottles to 5 oz.  This boy is an eating machine and is going to eat us out of house and home!
During these past weeks we have been so fortunate to have my parents in town.  They were a great help with Liam in helping with feedings, diaper changes, and of course getting in snuggles.  I am so glad they also had a chance to spend quality time with O, taking her to Storybook Land and miniature golf.  She had a blast!

First check up at one week old, he was 8 lb. 6 oz.
One week later checkup he was 8 lb. 12 oz.

His fav sleeping position, as well as
on his stomach

Liam is my little angel and song bird, which I named him due to the sweet chirping sounds he makes.   I feel so grateful to be his Momma!  Cannot wait to see what the future holds for us.
